Rose and I had stumbled across the Cathedral of St. Domnius in Diocletian’s Palace in Split, Croatia. For a few Euro, we could explore the tiny cathedral, the treasury, and the mausoleum. Sounded good…until the woman at the ticket counter handed me this beige beauty of a dress.
“What’s this?” I asked.
“Because you are wearing shorts, you must cover up. Rose, who was wearing a short skirt and sleeveless top, got away with just a shawl. I grumbled in displeasure.
But, Susan being Susan, I decided to rock that frock. I would be the cutest damn woman who ever wore it (and it smelled like many, many women had worn it before me).
When my friend Rachel saw the photo she laughed and said I looked like Dobby from Harry Potter when he got clothes. Except way cuter.
