Where The Light is Different

Have you noticed that sunlight isn’t the same around the world?


Having traveled more than a decade ago to Nice, France, I remember gold and pink sunsets, everything intensified, thanks to the liquid sunlight.  I thought it was simply me nostalgicizing my memories.

But no, it wasn’t a trick of the mind. When traveling by train through the south of France, I saw that sun again. I wanted to eat it up.


Dingle, Ireland, is another place where the sun is magical. Just look how it reflects so richly off of the buildings:

It’s probably no coincidence that the places I’ve loved the most have light like this. Light so thick, you could cut it with a knife. Light that makes any photo look professional. Where have you seen light like this?
